These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Chess Coach HQ, including our website, app, dashboard, and related services.

Chess Coach HQ is operated by Renato Pastorizo.

By using Chess Coach HQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Chess Coach HQ Provides

Chess Coach HQ's current beta helps individual chess coaches organize their coaching records.

The current beta helps coaches manage:

  • Student profiles
  • Lesson schedules and attendance
  • Manual payment records and balances
  • Coach-managed homework and external resource links
  • Lesson and progress notes
  • Dashboard summaries

Chess Coach HQ is a business management and coaching organization tool.

Chess Coach HQ does not guarantee chess improvement, rating gains, tournament success, coaching results, business income, or student performance.

2. Accounts and Access

Protected coaching features require a coach account. You can request beta access by contacting us at chessgold8@gmail.com. Requests are reviewed individually.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Not share your account without permission
  • Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Coach Responsibilities

Coaches are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of student, parent, lesson, homework, and payment records
  • Getting proper consent before entering student or parent/guardian information
  • Managing their own coaching relationships
  • Setting their own rates, schedules, refund policies, and payment policies
  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations
  • Keeping private notes professional and appropriate
  • Ensuring that training resources they share are appropriate and lawful

Chess Coach HQ does not act as the employer, agent, manager, representative, or business partner of any coach.

4. Student and Parent Information

If you enter information about students, parents, or guardians, you confirm that you have the right or permission to do so.

You agree not to enter unnecessary sensitive personal information.

You are responsible for the content, accuracy, and legality of information you add to the app.

5. Payments and Financial Records

Chess Coach HQ may allow coaches to manually track amounts due, amounts paid, balances, payment methods, payment notes, and receipt numbers.

The current beta does not process payments directly and is not responsible for:

  • Failed payments
  • Payment disputes between coaches and students or parents
  • Refunds
  • Chargebacks
  • Incorrect payment records entered by users
  • Tax reporting
  • Accounting compliance
  • Financial losses related to coaching payments

Coaches are responsible for their own payment collection, receipts, taxes, accounting, and financial recordkeeping.

6. Training Resources and External Links

Coaches may add links to third-party resources such as videos, documents, PGN files, chess websites, or other learning materials.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any training material or resource link you add to Chess Coach HQ.

Chess Coach HQ is not responsible for third-party content, broken links, copyright issues, external website availability, or the accuracy of outside resources.

7. User Content

"User Content" means information, notes, files, links, messages, lesson records, student records, homework, training resources, payment records, and other content added by users.

You retain ownership of your User Content.

By adding User Content to Chess Coach HQ, you give us permission to store, process, display, and use it as needed to provide the service.

You agree not to upload or enter content that is:

  • Illegal
  • Harmful
  • Abusive
  • Misleading
  • Infringing on intellectual property rights
  • Invasive of privacy
  • Unnecessary sensitive personal information
  • Malicious or technically harmful
  • Inappropriate for a coaching or student environment

We may remove content or restrict access if we believe it violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful purposes
  • Attempt to access another user's data
  • Interfere with app security or operation
  • Reverse engineer, copy, resell, or misuse the service
  • Upload malicious code
  • Use the service to spam, harass, exploit, or harm others
  • Misrepresent your identity or coaching credentials
  • Use Chess Coach HQ in a way that violates applicable laws
  • Enter student or parent information without proper permission

9. Free Beta Access

The current beta is free for individual coaches. It does not offer paid subscriptions, upgrades, or recurring billing.

Sending an access request does not automatically create an account or enroll you in a paid plan. Future pricing and availability have not been announced.

Beta access does not authorize future charges. Any future paid offer would be communicated separately and require your agreement.

10. Beta and Early Access

Chess Coach HQ may be offered as a beta or early access product.

During beta:

  • Features may change
  • Some features may be incomplete
  • Bugs may occur
  • Data may need to be reset or migrated
  • Availability is not guaranteed
  • Pricing and plans may change before public launch

By using beta access, you understand that the product is still being improved.

11. No Guarantee of Results

Chess Coach HQ helps coaches organize their coaching business.

We do not guarantee:

  • Student chess improvement
  • Rating increases
  • Tournament wins
  • Coaching income
  • Business growth
  • Client retention
  • Student engagement
  • Accuracy of records entered by users

Any reports, summaries, dashboards, or calculations inside the app are for organization and convenience only.

12. No Legal, Tax, Accounting, Financial, or Professional Advice

Chess Coach HQ is a software tool.

It does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, or professional business advice.

You should consult qualified professionals for legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice.

13. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Chess Coach HQ available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

We may also update features, pricing, design, content, or functionality as the product evolves.

14. Intellectual Property

Chess Coach HQ, including its name, branding, design, software, features, layout, and content created by us, belongs to Chess Coach HQ or its owners/licensors.

You may not copy, resell, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the service without permission.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if a user:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Misuses the service
  • Attempts unauthorized access
  • Creates legal, security, or operational risk
  • Enters unlawful or inappropriate content

You may stop using the service at any time.

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

Chess Coach HQ is provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or meet every user's specific needs.

We do not guarantee chess improvement, coaching success, student results, tournament outcomes, business results, or income growth.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Chess Coach HQ and its owner, operators, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

This includes loss of data, loss of income, business interruption, coaching disputes, payment disputes, student disputes, or reliance on information entered into the app.

18. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Chess Coach HQ, Renato Pastorizo, and any operators, contractors, or service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your User Content
  • Your coaching business activities
  • Your student or parent relationships
  • Your payment or refund disputes
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of another person's rights
  • Your violation of applicable law

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes will be handled in the appropriate courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are significant, we may notify users through the app, email, or website.

Continued use of Chess Coach HQ after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
